Background Music Systems for Shops, Offices, and Public Sites
A background music system fills shops, offices, restaurants, and public sites with music that sits behind work, waiting, and conversation. This page describes the line at category level, in terms of zones, feel, and rooms.
Zone coverage diagram
A diagram of coverage zones and speaker nodes, drawn for this site. It describes how to talk about zones, not a single installation.
Music that sits behind, not in front
Background music should be noticed without demanding attention. The brief should name the feel wanted per zone in plain terms: calm for waiting areas, lively for sales floors, quiet for offices. Feel words guide the reply better than equipment words.
Zones divide by feel as much as by room. A sales floor and its back rooms want different feels, and a restaurant dining area and its entrance want different feels again. The brief should name feel per zone, not one feel for the whole site.
Announcements over music
Most background music sites also carry announcements: shop messages, office pages, and public notices. The brief should name how announcements share zones with music, and which zones hear announcements at all.
Sharing rules belong in the brief: whether music pauses, lowers, or continues under announcements, and whether all zones or only some hear each announcement. One sharing example in the brief lets the reply show how sharing works.
Briefing a background music line
Brief a background music line with zones, feel per zone, and one sharing example, then ask what to measure in each room and what to check on a sample.
Share your quantity and target date to get MOQ and lead time for your order. Before payment, confirm every term that applies to your order.
