Multi-Zone Amplifiers for Separate Messages
Sites where zones need separate messages — different announcements for different wings, or music in one zone while announcements run in another — need zone briefs that name those differences. This page describes that brief at category level. Confirm with the supplier whether a suitable option exists for your zones, and confirm the specification sheet before ordering.

Zones that differ
Multi-zone briefs start by naming how zones differ: different messages, different times, or different levels. A wing used for offices and a wing used for gatherings differ in all three, and the brief should name each difference rather than calling both wings zones and stopping there.
Zones also differ by control: who may announce to each zone, and whether one person may announce to all zones at once. Control differences belong in the brief beside message differences, because a zone plan without control rules is only half a plan.
Messages that overlap
Overlapping messages need rules in the brief: what happens when a site-wide message and a zone message run at the same time, and which rooms hear which one. The brief should name at least one overlap case, so the reply can show how overlaps are handled.
Routine and safety messages overlap most dangerously. Multi-zone briefs need safety zones of their own, with safety control rules apart from routine control.
Briefing a multi-zone arrangement
Brief a multi-zone arrangement with zone differences, control rules, and one overlap case, then ask what to measure in each zone and what to check on a sample.
